If anyone has any ideas for an additional spell for any of the mage schools, feel free to forward through to me by mudmail. I've had some great ideas already provided for divination, and players regularly have much better ideas than I do As a guideline, if a school is already combat-powerful I'd be looking more towards accessory/utility spells, and vice versa. Thanks! |

What about a teleport spell that doesn't work on remembered locations, but instead works on recognized people. I have recognized Daerah to I would <cast class xteleport to daerah> and poof...I am where she stood when I cast. This could be exceptionally fun if she is flying or sailing. _________________ All dogs go to heaven

With all these new spells though, I think a feat that could be taken by any class to allow scroll use would be quite important. Spell charges are exorbitantly expensive and I think other less spell worthy classes are getting left quite far behind the more spells that are added. Scrolls are already have a strict limit to how many someone can take due to their weight. So I do not see any balance issues coming from it.
In tabletop the huge number of spells available to players is balanced by spell slots and being able to prepare spells only once per day. Obviously thats not feasible and its not too difficult to just wait until a utility spell is needed to prepare it. So I think making scroll use an option for everyone would help out a lot with this.
Obviously there is the IC issue of making magic too cheap, but I'm pretty sure that can be handled IC. Also unless a fighter is taking a lot of levels in spellcraft as well, then they won't be able to use more then low level spells and even then there if they order ten spells they may only be able to use like four out of ten. Thats six scrolls they have purchased they can't use. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. The forum will automatically notify me by e-mail. Only if there is a 99.99999% chance that when this spell is cast your character is sucked into the weave and your account is banned for 10,000 years.
I hope this wasn't an honest request, having an actual private conversation in this game is hard enough with the twenty billion ways of foolproof, no risk all reward scrying, and now you would prefer the ease of ruining anyones day without even having to scry them first.
In other news, nerf scrying, add magical scry protection items into the game that work on everything, from orbs to masks to cleric, druid, arcane and psionic... oh and bardic... why do all casters need to beable to scry? _________________ Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit,

It would be kinda funny to send people teleporting to others in flight though. They would have a long way to fall |

Bugfix to the feats command - certain feats weren't able to be added with bonus class martial/spellcraft feats, but should now work. Of note, please let me know if anything goes awry with adding any feats (normal or class bonus feats) just in case I overlooked something... |

Randomly browsing, I noticed Druids get endurance as a class feat until disguise goes in. Sorcerers have disguise as a class feat active still, and possibility that class could get the same bail out? _________________ Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit,

Sorry for the sudden slow-down in the magespells (yes, there's still several imminent) - RL took a turn for the hectic and I'm going to be out of town til at least the end of the coming weekend. Sorry for the delay, will be back on board as soon as I'm able! |

Good, should give me enough time to take credit for all of them. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. The forum will automatically notify me by e-mail. Then my e-mail will send me a text message. Then I will get on likely within minutes. |

now that druids and fey'ri are in, why not a spell of shape change or polymorph self. To make it easy on the coder they could be set shapes. _________________ All dogs go to heaven

There kind of already is. Though so as not to take away from the Druid, I think any polymorph spell should b an aggressive temporarily turning your enemy into a toad kind. Though probably make what he actually turns into a little random. With a chance of maybe turning him into something useless, or maybe, rarely, turning him into Klauth's crossdressing cousin. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. It's on the list; wasn't rushing as there's still a kink in the system that ends up with people sometimes stuck in one particular form - but it's so stupid obscure we haven't been able to pin it down. I have a patch fix of sorts to put in for it now that I'm back, before spells like that become more globally used. Then yes, we can potentially have spells like that floating around - though they would be limited scope (as the fey'ri shift is) until such time as the disguise lib is done properly. My options on the spell without that lib are pretty restrictive |

Yeah, I had to learn the hard way when doing it using the cloak from Klauth. |
