I was thinking, would it be so bad to have roleplay XP? You know, a small amount of XP granted triggered by emotes and chat. With a cap on it to make it possible to level once a week purely through RP? _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. except people would write macros to level up without any adventuring. _________________ you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose |

You have no faith in your players. But this game would already be reall easy to write a macro for leveling. Don't even need a macro really if you didn't mind a slow level up, just sit at a monster spawn area and kill when they spawn and heal afterwards. Could pretty easily get 1-2 levels a week doing that already.
So I don't think that reason you gave is a good one. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. The forum will automatically notify me by e-mail. Then my e-mail will send me a text message. Then I will get on likely within minutes. |

The problem is, there's no testament to whether they're even emoting something relevant or mashing keys. Judging roleplay & awarding exp for it is limited directly to imms for that reason. While I have other ideas on the potential for other players to commend their fellow players for exp rewards for roleplay, I don't have the means to give it a fair implementation at this point. It's not something to do without serious thought because, as Hades has said, it has potential for abuse for "free exp".
We're also far more interested in exp for interactions, rather than sitting in a room emoting at yourself. The latter may be good to help you flesh out your character, but it doesn't really expand on the game story itself. So I'd be far more inclined to have other players award it, than to allow anyone to just emote at themselves and get rewarded for it. That's counter-intuitive to the intention of the game. |
