Guys,
I've been lurking more and more the last few months and I have an insight that has bugged me for a while now, years actually, however it is much worse now. Why can't we get any good aligned characters? Secondly, why can't we as a mud get some conflict on each end of the spectrum? good vs evil? Is it the lack of players, which causes everyone to want to be neutral? Does everyone want to evil for the free ride and lack of rules? Evil IMO should fight each other, except maybe a few close allies, which should probably still fight each other or rarely see eye to eye. Lastly, am I the only one who misses the good old days of good vs evil? Have we reached a point where that is boring?
I'm asking, because I don't have the answer. I have been debating good, but I haven't started one because there seemed to be no others, which left me thinking that is the issue. Am I wrong?

When did evil become a team? Just because there does not seem to be enough good to suit you, this does not mean you are buddy buddy with another because you are both evil. _________________ All dogs go to heaven

Depends on the team and the relationship. You could work together like Vader and Emperor. Or Magento and his cronies, which were pretty evil but seem to work together. Being evil doesn't make you unable to cooperate it means that you are willing to betray should the plan take a turn from your objective or should the leader show weakness. The only alignment which I see having COMPLETE trouble with teamwork is CE, however, the entire drow race kills each other repeatedly and is still powerful and a feared force within D&D lore, that is because they are able to work together WHEN required. Team work with evil is OFTEN shown in movies, games, and comics along with SG I can think of numerous EVIL teams that have fought and maimed each other around the game, but unified to dispatch team GOOD. This is beside the point though, I'm just curious why team good seems to always suck. |

This is one of those questions that everybody can only answer for themselves. I actually personally prefer good aligned characters. But Verbannon was my exception. And I've just stuck with him. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. The forum will automatically notify me by e-mail. Personally my preference was always good as a player - I'm too soft to be a decent evil for any span of time. But yknow, there's only so much time to code as-is so |
