Shifters shouldnt be the go to for both equipment and money. Their bags and satchels should become unclaimable and have chanmpions get a high chance of dropping lets say, some kind of crystal that can be used either to sell for a ton of money or recharging wands. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. My eventual goal - hopefully within the next few weeks - is to have champions have some randomly generated gear. I've been working on an equipment generator to do this - I have not made a lot of progress. I actually needed to step away and get some perspective for my own peace of mind. I have had a stressful week, to say the least.
However, I am hoping that the equipment generator will add a lot of variety to champions, as well as other parts of the game. I think I may set up some of the equipment so that it is worth much more than normal.
I realize that this still leaves us with shifters providing both gold and tokens but hopefully eventually we might have shifters working as sort of mini bosses for some randomly generated quest areas. |

Thieves need something to steal to build up their guild accounts. |

Thieves need something else to spend their credits on. It's extremely easy to build up several million credits even without the shifters. |

Everyone needs something to spend gold on, the economy is broken and has been for quite some time. |

This has become less of a problem since we've had to start paying to repair our equipment after deaths, which can be a couple hundred thousand gold each time. It would be nice, though, if thieves could use their credits toward repairs in the guilds. |

I always felt bags and satchels in shifters sometimes rolled way to valuable. It would suck to give thieves less things to steal. But there really should be a cap on the value. _________________ you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose |

Well they still have the kits to steal, and maybe give them or more preferred, a number of high value heavily defended NPCs, lots of gold to pickpocket. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. Assuming repairing equipment has resolved the inability to spend gold at high levels, this would be an easy fix IMO.
Can players not repair equipment with skills anymore? |

Skills work just fine. Most players sink their points elsewhere as magical crafting isn't yet implemented, which is a good chunk of the intended value in those skills. |

We are working to remove any concerns about item proliferation from the game so players can happily sell anything to anybody. That should get the gold flowing again, and should be especially useful for newer players. I remember how handy the Fist used to be when I was learning the game. |

Nice, will help individual players but doesn't help excess gold sloshing around the system. Any ideas/initiatives percolating around on that front? |

Over the course of a single story event Im often out tens of millions of gold. I think the faction system will solve the money problem. Another thing Ill point out is that without shifter satchels and bags, money accumalation drops dramatically. And everyone with an excess of gold got it from shifters. Take away shifter bags and satchels and you solve the gold crisis. _________________ PM me in the forum here when you want me on to RP or dungeon dive. Where does the payment requirement come from for events that you need to pay out tens of millions of gold?
There have always been gold issues, since well before shifters. removing a source of gold accumulation for players does not create a working economy. |
