Sometimes a character finds himself doing something that should logically affect the room he is in, be it a battle with another character, an experiment gone awry or carving the name of his love into the trunk of a tree.
What if these things could actually remain in the game world for a time?
Having players edit room descs would be quite impractical, but would it be feasible to allow players to create little signs or plaques that denotes a change was made?
Bob creates a plaque with the desc. "Looking more closely at the wall of this building reveals scorch marks and blood spatter. Something must have gone down here."
Karl could then "look plaque/sign/edit(whatever you call it)" and see the message (+date if possible.)
They could be semi-permanent, lasting until next reboot or a given amount of days(2 weeks?). Ideally, others could "amend plaque" if they had something to add.

I think something along these lines is in the works, but could be awhile off. If the higher-ups are okay with it, I'd be willing to make temporary changes like this (or take requests, so long as they're realistic). _________________

I'd love to see something like this as well! But perhaps taken even a step further, to be room graffiti or even better yet an immovable object in the room that could be looked at (so a long and a short description).
I think it would be a quick fix to giving players some small ability to drive their own plots.
And then have it be wipeable at reboot so as to not muck up the world. |
