Lore: Elven silverwork is reknown for its illustrous beauty, dwarven silverwork is known for its artistry. Halfling silverwork is known for making certain bad things dead. Halflings often find themselves in opposition to werecreatures, whether halfling thief guilds fighting off wererats in the sewers or halfling riverfolk fending off wearwolves attacking their sheep. Halflings have a need for silvered weapons and armors thats above the norm for most races. And so most of the best quility silvered arms for actual fighting is made courtesy of halfling whitesmiths. Silver is also the sacred metal of three deities, Cyric, Kelemvore and Selune. Some believe that its silver's association with the moon that grants it such about over werefolk others believe that it is its power over werefolk which has caused its association with the moon. Either way the arms and armor of Selune Templars are traditionally forged with silver gilt and silver edges. Silver is also, some might say perveresely, a sacred metal of cyric. Most evil werecreatures prefer to worship cyric's token ally Malar. And it is rumored that the reason most priests of Cyric carry a silvered dagger, is so that they are prepared for the eventual and inevitable betrayal of Malar by Cyric. And lastly silver is a holy metal of Kelemvore, it is known that certain undead are also harmed by silver. Kelemvorites believe that the reason is because silver is a metal possessed of a natural duality, existing both in the natural world and in the spiritual. And that is why silver is able to harm werewolves so. Because of this belief, many cultures will bury their dead with a silver coin, believing that they will somehow be able to use it even in the next life. People who actually portal into the afterlives and return, report back mixed findings on whether or not this is true.

Each of these will have a normal mundane leather variant and a special one connected to the lore. The latter should be much rarer than the former.

Item common description: %^ORANGE%^l%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^ORANGE%^a%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^th%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^r%^RESET%^ Cap
Item short description: Masterwork %^ORANGE%^l%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^ORANGE%^a%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^th%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^r%^RESET%^ Cap
Item long description: This is a simple but masterly crafted cap of hardened %^ORANGE%^l%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^ORANGE%^a%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^th%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^r%^RESET%^, It has two flaps that cover the ears and a %^ORANGE%^l%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^ORANGE%^a%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^th%^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^e%^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^r%^RESET%^ nose guard.
Item alternate IDs: cap, leather, leather cap, masterwork leather cap.
Item Enchantment: Random

Body slot/proficiency: Head(light)
Lore: Cowhide, Goat hide, deer hide, basic leather is by far the most commonly worked armor. Used and worn by all peoples, of all races and all creeds. From the lowest goblins to the noblest of sun elves. But do not mistake being common for being common. Being common simply means that it has protected more legends than any other material. Take the Pebble Plunderers, a renown band of halfling mercenaries in their time. Each was an expert slinger capable of putting a bullet right between the eyes of a knight who had foolishly raised his visor thinking himself safe at a hundred and twenty five paces. In addition to stupendous skill, the pebble plunderers had a secret, their leather caps were all fitted with a feather that hung down in front of their faces. The feather however was enchanted with the simplest of magic. Instead of blowing in the wind by the halflings, it fluttered as if it was in the wind 125 paces in front of the halflings. Allowing them to judge their aim with much more accuracy than otherwise.

Item alternate IDs: cap, leather, leather cap, masterwork leather cap.
Item Enchantment: Random plus a substantial increase in damage to ranged attacks targeting a different room.
Item Equip: The %^BOLD%^%^MAGENTA%^feather%^RESET%^ flops in front of your face.

From the lowest goblins to the noblest of sun elves. But do not mistake being common for being common. Being common simply means that it has protected more legends than any other material. Take the kobold hero Gark. Deified by three different Kobold tribes. He was a master rogue that wore an enchanted leather coif enchanted with a look away spell to keep anyone from looking at his face. With this coif upon his head he travelled freely through the human cities where he worked his most vile crimes. He painted obscene graffiti upon the temple of Sune in Torm, he stole the Empress of Tonovi’s undergarments and replaced every flag and banner in the city with them, he chipped his own face into the Shadow Monument forcing a complete refurbishing of the statue and his greatest act ever, he snuck into a sun elf city with two buckets of cow dung and spent an hour ambushing the fair folk and throwing dung in their faces. Always managing to vanish before he could be caught. For this and many other great deeds, he will be long remembered by koboldkin.

Read: (Kobold) Kobolds rule! Ya’ll drool!
Item alternate IDs: coif, leather, leather coif, masterwork leather coif.
Item Enchantment: Random plus a triggerable power that temporarily changes the adjective of the wearer to “A generic figure” and prevents city guards from recognizing and attacking the wearer on sight. The long desc is unaffected so players can still look hard at the wearer and recognize them through that. Also an enchantment on it prevents an alterobj change, forcing the wearer to carry upon his head the testament to kobold awesomeness.

From the lowest goblins to the noblest of sun elves. But do not mistake being common for being common. Being common simply means that it has protected more legends than any other material. The Firbolg size poses a special problem in war. They loathe the use of shields, but metal armor is prohibitively expensive to make for ones of their size. But even the best made leather can only a portion of the shafts that rain down in an arrow volley. And with their size even a large portion leaves far too many to get through and pierce their flesh. So to compensate for this weakness the leather armor of the firbolg is often reinforced with enchantments intended to protect specifically against the rain of arrows.

20% of all leather armor drops.

The Firbolg size poses a special problem in war. They loathe the use of shields, but metal armor is prohibitively expensive to make for ones of their size. Minotaur craftsmen are rare enough, but those who are birthed find themselves hampered by their size and strength. The construction of their mazes often requires the, usually forced enlistment, of other races to complete. Most commonly kobolds, for although the minotaurs can hew out passages, they find themselves unable to construct traps, mechanisms and other finer details, without causing more damage than anything else. One minotaur however, who’s name is lost, had the presence of mind to capture and force a human wizard to craft for him gloves of leather to aid in this matter. The wizard was then sold to another minotaur and then another. Until after dozens of gloves were made, the wizard had stolen all he could and vanished. And the minotaurs were left to realize that the wizard had replaced all their gold, with fool’s gold. But the gloves were real enough.
