I was just reminiscing about roleplay and thought it would be fun to share the pcnotes from one of my favorite characters. I have not recorded the journey on any other character so well and I feel like it is something that should be shared. Enjoy the trip down memory lane, many of you likely make appearances!

1 : Ryzan, Fri Apr 23 22:00:39 2010 - Need to make contact with others of
my kind and start building connections here on the surface. Do not want to
be living on the run from spider kisser raiding parties.
2 : Ryzan, Fri Apr 23 22:01:29 2010 - Currently hired out to Belendithas,
agreed to gather some information for him in return for payment and
introduction to potentially useful allies.
3 : Ryzan, Fri Apr 23 22:05:01 2010 - Aunuit is alive and whimsical as
ever. Unsure of how to proceed with her as her powers of persuasion are
undeniable and are perhaps too strong for even me to resist. Despite the
risk the benefits of having an ally who can infiltrate the surface dwellers
society outweighs them.
4 : Ryzan, Sat Apr 24 20:26:14 2010 - Discovered a spirit in one of my
hideouts, calling herself Pandemonium she is a barkeep that believes her
house The fallen angels are still active..
5 : Ryzan, Mon Apr 26 07:20:04 2010 - Belendithas knows about Aunuit now.
Seems there are no secrets on the surface world..all can see what happens
behind closed doors. Our discussions will have to be kept to whispers until
we can find a more private means to communicate.
6 : Ryzan, Mon Apr 26 10:41:59 2010 - Was introduced by Belendithas to
Riden and Magnus. Riden is a psionic and seems interested in my kind which
actually gives me something to bargain with. Magnus on the other hand seems
to hate me. This would be more bothersome but he appears to be under
Riden's control. I will remain wary in any case.
7 : Ryzan, Tue Apr 27 15:46:35 2010 - Finally met another of my kind that
has been on the surface for a while. He calls himself Tiberius and
unfortunately I have come to discover he is a servant of Lolth. He tells me
though that Lolth is different here and does not favor females or even our
kind on the surface... It is a lot to take in at once.
8 : Ryzan, Tue Apr 27 15:48:31 2010 - Was informed by Tiberius that the
Elder Dithas is a high priest of the Spider Queen... It is no wonder he
seems half mad, the insanity of this world is difficult to deny.
9 : Ryzan, Thu Apr 29 00:24:25 2010 - Aunuit has come to me with a mad
scheme to reclaim a place not just for us but for our people here on the
surface. She wishes to be the Queen of our kind here and has asked if I
will support her mission... I do not know that such a thing is possible but
she is...very convincing..
10 : Ryzan, Fri Apr 30 15:19:47 2010 - Met another exile by the name of
Ziger today...he appears to be very powerful and a magi to top it all off.
He puts me ill at ease and I have the feeling he will be watching me from a
distance often. I do not want to tell him about Aunuit until I learn more
about him but I have a feeling I will not get a choice in the matter. He
reminds me too much of the Elder Dithas and the Matrons..powerful and
secure in the knowledge that you will do as they say or else..
11 : Ryzan, Sun May 2 19:23:56 2010 - Introduced Tiberius to Aunuit and
though there was initial resistance he seems eager to be a part of our
grand design. It is fortunate as I would have regretted having to kill him
at this point.
12 : Ryzan, Sun May 2 19:25:26 2010 - Ziger has approached me with news
that he is closely watching Mithras, Melgor and Adlon. I think this will be
an excellent opportunity to cause him problems by leaking his attention to
those three through Aunuit. With any luck it will keep him occupied enough
that he does not become an obstacle to us.
13 : Ryzan, Sun May 2 19:27:50 2010 - My sisters hold on me is complete I
fear. My spiteful rebellions are becoming weaker and I find myself wanting
to please her if only for the satisfaction of her approval..It is very
troubling.
14 : Ryzan, Tue May 4 15:46:12 2010 - Tiberius' condition seems to be
deteriorating as time goes on. His mind suffering from the effects of his
split soul. I've told him that if he is going to be of any use to us he
will have to be restored to his full capacities. He seems to agree and has
promised to try to find out where the lost portion of his soul has been
taken.
15 : Ryzan, Tue May 4 15:47:50 2010 - Riden has attempted to teach me the
language of the surface folk but it is slow going and tiring. Our inability
to communicate is beginning to frustrate us both and I'm not sure that we
will be able to maintain any sort of trade agreement when it is such a
bother even speaking.
16 : Ryzan, Tue May 4 15:49:24 2010 - Apparently Paolo has chosen to cut
contact with Aunwee and I for fear of being exposed... Aunwee seems intent
on killing him for certain insults he tossed on his way out. It may be a
necessity though if Aunwee's secret is not already far too compromised.
17 : Ryzan, Wed May 5 19:25:54 2010 - Trailed Marisola to the temple of
Shar...I'm not sure if she is an agent of the elder or just a spy of some
kind.
18 : Ryzan, Wed May 5 21:50:22 2010 - Was tracked down by a human priest
calling himself Darren. He questioned me about my purpose and claimed to be
watching me...Just what I need another observer in my life. Things are
becoming more difficult every day it seems.
19 : Ryzan, Wed May 5 21:51:14 2010 - A human psion by the name of
Asavrede scryed Aunwee and I on the trail tonight.. One day I will find an
item that will make it impossible to watch me..
20 : Ryzan, Wed May 5 21:52:54 2010 - Aunwee and I were attacked on the
trail by a large group of powerful undead. The fight was vicious and I came
quite close to losing my life. Seems the creature was infectious as I ended
up with some form of blight on my arm. Managed to have it cured by Jurans
Shade caretaker..
21 : Ryzan, Fri May 7 08:49:35 2010 - A half-fae called Ethius decided to
call on Tiberius, Aunwee and myself today. Seems to think quite highly of
himself and began demanding names. I'm growing annoyed by all the surfacers
who feel they can just force themselves into our affairs.. When I refused
to give my name and turned to leave I took a blade in the back. Never turn
your back...I knew this already and I suppose I am lucky it was not a fatal
lesson.
22 : Ryzan, Fri May 7 10:36:37 2010 - Ethius has asked that I let our
little disagreement of earlier go as a misunderstanding. I'm more than
happy to let him think so but I fully intend to repay him in kind as soon
as an opportunity presents itself.
23 : Ryzan, Sun May 9 16:17:40 2010 - Aunuit has convinced Mithras to meet
with me and travel with us. I am not comfortable with how close this elf is
getting to our affairs. He does not seem particularly useful when all he
does is follow after Aunwee with longing in his eyes. I've yet to hear of
anything worthwhile gained from her attention to him.
24 : Ryzan, Sun May 9 16:19:04 2010 - Mithras, Aunuit and I were attacked
by slavers upon exiting the werewolf keep on Deku. They wore strange
insignias that Aunuit identified as being something called a swan. She says
they are part of an organization she has heard of. Must learn more..
25 : Ryzan, Mon May 10 22:48:29 2010 - Tiberius has approached both Aunuit
and I to bow out of our plans for the ascent. I believe his condition may
have deteriorated to the point where he can no longer see gain of any kind
and instead wallows in negativity and bitterness. I also suspect the Elder
may have crushed his spirit completely..
26 : Ryzan, Mon May 10 22:51:15 2010 - I've decided that the powerful
connections of the Elder are too big a boon to ignore and so have
approached him with a proposal of a joint operation of mutual interest. He
is very interested but has not yet offered his terms.
27 : Myrkul, Wed May 12 06:26:27 2010 - <You find a note on a bunch of
Swans which tried to enslave you on the roads in Daggerdale: Lieutenant
Akio says that the Shogun is weak. He wants to either break out of the
Swans or simply replace the Shogun. Band the brothers together, we can earn
coin slaving and then challenge him when we have enough warriors. Kaito>
28 : Ryzan, Wed May 12 06:31:40 2010 - Attacked by these Swan creatures
again. Apparently an insurrection of some kind is taking place..May be
valuable information to trade to this Shogun. I will speak to Aunuit and
see what she thinks.
29 : Ryzan, Wed May 12 20:56:55 2010 - Aunuit has sold the information I
acquired of the Swan clan insurrection to Yuki for 20k gold and a
possibility of future dealings. More strands for the web we are weaving
here across the surface.
30 : Ryzan, Thu May 13 11:39:13 2010 - Added a new female to our collection
of exiles, Aunuit believes she may be useful and intends to nurture her
into a potent tool for our cause. I will be watching her closely...
31 : Ryzan, Fri May 14 08:34:14 2010 - Allowing myself to be seen in
Tonovi. If the humans here are anything like the others I've met it will
draw attention and perhaps the ones we are looking to bargain with will
come to me.
32 : Ryzan, Sat May 15 18:04:22 2010 - Yuki has courted Aunuit and I to
join Swan. As if we would ever serve under a human...I find his arrogance
offensive but there is little we can do at the moment but feign interest.
The Shogun is too powerful to cross at this time.
33 : Ryzan, Sun May 16 17:33:28 2010 - Akielstreea and Tiberius have been
informed of our desire to not only bring our people to the surface but
establish a powerful house here. House Teken'ghym shall rise again.
34 : Ryzan, Sun May 16 17:36:14 2010 - The Knight Tryren who I have
discovered is a member of Swan has asked us to accompany him into the
planes of fire. He seems very interested in us and I assume it is because
the Shogun wishes to add us to his flock.
35 : Ryzan, Sun May 16 17:38:31 2010 - The Elder has taken an interest in
Akielstreea. It will bear watching as she will be of no use to us dead or
enslaved to that abhorrent creature..

cursed wood of a wand held by the Horrible Hagbeast in order for her to
poison a Drow Matron or two>
38 : Ryzan, Mon May 17 06:44:04 2010 - Aunwee's attempt to summon a Balor
ended in failure as the summoning circle collapsed and the creature broke
free forcing us to destroy it. Then the unthinkable happened and two fiend
blooded creatures were pulled through the portal as well. Kyle and
Sylvia... Aunwee allowed them to leave alive and while I do not think that
was the best course I do not question the Matron. I'm sure she has her
reasons..

40 : Ryzan, Thu May 20 19:13:31 2010 - Emissary to House Hunzrin, Akrezu
Hunzrin. Controls a pet of unknown facility. Must investigate further.
41 : Ryzan, Thu May 20 20:11:29 2010 - Akielstreea has informed us that she
has posed as the Emissary of house Hunzrin and with Tiberius began their
attack on Tonovi with a band of Ogres and goblinoids. The attacking force
was wiped out but we may now be in a position to offer our aid to Tonovi in
dealing with their underdwelling enemies.
42 : Myrkul, Sun May 23 19:11:43 2010 - <Hmmmm... Your military mind
focuses like an arrow on the strategic scene -- Swans were selling slaves.
Then they stopped, perhaps for internal reasons. Tonovi could not generate
enough slaves to meet promises made to the Underdark. House Freth and House
Hunzrin are then forced to respond by attacking Tonovi or else lose respect
of the humans and the respect of weaker houses in Northern dagger.>
43 : Ryzan, Sun May 23 19:24:25 2010 - Seems our actions have come full
circle and what began with a few foolish slavers has turned into a golden
opportunity for us. House Freth and Hunzrin will fall and from their ashes
shall be born House Teken'ghym.
44 : Ryzan, Mon May 24 11:04:49 2010 - Bentalf has been brought low by
Akielstreea for his attack on our kind and the Matron has proceeded to
break his mind to create a sleeper agent within the ranks of Swan. If we
are able to plant more agents like this within the ranks of the powers of
the realm we will have a distinct advantage in dealing with them all.
45 : Ryzan, Mon May 24 11:07:41 2010 - The demon blood Kyle has assaulted
two members of house Teken'ghym and forced them to teach our language or
die. The house will eliminate him quickly for his arrogance though Ziger
may beat us to it as he has taken a wager with me as to who will catch the
creature first.
46 : Ryzan, Wed May 26 21:50:55 2010 - After the many journeys below I have
managed to gather a handful of drow to serve the house and the Matron has
selected three to be her personal attendants. Pyranda the magess and
Laricis and Elaso, two competent warriors. Her retinue is growing and soon
she will command a mighty house. After all the work I did to bury my
house..I am now aiding in its resurrection. Strange that I have no regrets.
47 : Ryzan, Fri May 28 20:10:57 2010 - Assaulted by a mud caked savage of a
pale skin called Birdie. She is fortunate Aunuit has decreed that bloodshed
must be kept to a minimum and has specifically mentioned her name. I will
not anger the Matron by destroying one of her unknowing agents.
48 : Ryzan, Sun May 30 18:54:07 2010 - Tiberius is wanted in Tonovi for
questioning...This is a development we could have done without. I've
instructed him to find a law official to question about the source that
pointed them in his direction. We must unwravel this quickly if we are to
use Tonovi to our ends. Tiberius knows what is at stake here. If he has
compromised himself he will suffer the consequences alone.
49 : Ryzan, Mon May 31 07:31:57 2010 - Another insolent human magi scrying
Aunuit and teleporting in to let us know that he knows her secret. Vagnor
does not appear to be especially powerful but it seems that if you can
teleport and see through a mirror it comes with a certain level of
overwhelming pride. The day we are no longer required to deal with these
lesser filth I will greatly enjoy disposing of him.

51 : Ryzan, Tue Jun 1 17:53:43 2010 - The Shogun of Swan has had me
captured by a powerful beast creature he calls Kain and brought before his
"Swans". He asked of the spy in his ranks and I knew if I told my life was
forfeit anyways. I grasped at a lie that he was being misinformed..but he
ordered me executed anyway. I capitalized on the beasts pride and managed
to convince him to duel me and then made good my escape. I was nearly
brought low several times and when the Shogun attacked I nearly killed him.
This Shogun is far weaker than I expected and I am beginning to wonder how
he manages to hold onto the power he has.
52 : Ryzan, Wed Jun 2 06:46:03 2010 - stumbled across a mask in a temple
high in the mountains of a strange island. The Matron and I have discovered
that they are guarding something, a tomb of some old dead god.
Unfortunately I've discovered this too late as now I wear an artifact that
bears its spirit. I cannot find a church that will remove it and from what
I've read of this mask since then it seems the only choice I have is death
or slaying an already dead god..
53 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 3 17:20:47 2010 - The Matron and the Shogun have made
peace, though I will not forget the human filths quick order for my
execution. The Matron will not require him forever and when the time comes
I will be the one to deliver his final reward.
54 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 3 17:22:47 2010 - The Masks influence grows by the
day. I fear that I will lose control of myself completely if we do not deal
with this soon. This entity leaves me feeling hollow..and I can also feel
its contempt for me. I must return it to its tomb... I must be free.
55 : Ryzan, Fri Jun 4 13:03:28 2010 - Descending into the pits of
Ibranduls tomb, we have emerged victorious. The dead gods influence is gone
from me and I am given yet another sign that this has all been Lolths will.
She wanted Teken'ghym to fall that it could rise once more a greater power
than had ever been possible below. I do not know how I know this, or why
Aunuit and I were chosen...but I am deeply concerned. Despite my
efforts..there is no escape from Lolths will.
56 : Ryzan, Sat Jun 5 05:03:12 2010 - Tiberius has been exposed as a
consorter with half-breeds and humans. His betrayal of the house can no
longer be ignored. We have given him every opportunity to mend his ways and
he has resisted and refused. He does not believe in the Matron nor does he
respect her and his loose lips are becoming an annoyance. Seems after all
this...Ziger was right.
57 : Ryzan, Sat Jun 5 05:06:20 2010 - The Shogun has paid house Teken'ghym
100,000 gold to bring Ethius to him alive. Considering our history it was
one of the few times I've actually been interested in doing something for
Yuki. Still..after delivering the man the Shogun proceeded to begin slicing
off limbs and rather ignoring everything that the half breed said. The man
has no concept of how to properly interrogate and it is a wonder he can
learn anything with his kill first and assume you are right later tactics.
This is a dangerously unstable human who cannot be trusted to do anything
but overreact at the first sign of trouble. Perhaps this will prove useful
in the future...and perhaps we should end him before he is given another
excuse to come after us.
58 : Ryzan, Mon Jun 7 20:23:23 2010 - The shadows have called me since I
was a child and yet I denied their embrace for so long instead hiding
within the confines of metal. No longer will I deny what I am. Lolth made
us to be one with the darkness and in time I will be indiscernible from any
other shadow.
59 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 10 07:56:43 2010 - I've begun to feel out the local
thieves guild in Juran, trying to determine who controls it. When house
Teken'ghym rises our primary source of power will be the trade we offer
between the underworld and the surface. The Merchant clans will not like
the competition but with proper placement of our agents we should be able
to anticipate any move they make against us before it is made. Preparation
is key here..we cannot afford to overlook anything.
60 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 10 07:58:15 2010 - Tonovi has not responded to the
Matrons wish to meet and this situation is dragging on far longer than
anticipated. If we cannot establish any surface ties our plans are over
before they begin..
61 : Ryzan, Sat Jun 12 06:57:59 2010 - Someone called Salathiel is posting
in Juran demanding the heads of an unknown Drow house. Perhaps us? The
message is too vague to tell.
62 : Ryzan, Wed Jun 16 17:30:14 2010 - I've suggested to the Matron that
perhaps in light of the humans lack of interest in our offers to meet it
may be time to begin considering other options. I have turned her attention
towards Juran, a relatively untapped resource that perhaps over time can be
developed into just what we need to attain prominence here on the surface.
I city of outcasts who all have a reason to hate the wretched humans who
claim dominion of this land.
63 : Ryzan, Wed Jun 16 17:31:36 2010 - The Matron has purchased a
handmaiden from the psion Magnus. The woman is called Vashii and is quite
peculiar even for a human. Apparently she has a fetish for pain. Time will
tell if she ends up being a worthwhile servant, thus far I am unimpressed.
64 : Ryzan, Wed Jun 16 21:22:59 2010 - The Matron has decided it is time to
begin her bloodline and has chosen me to sire her children. In time the
house will be populated not just with adopted outcasts but true royal
blood... A necessity in gaining legitimacy and recognition by our
underdwelling kin.
65 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 17 08:32:47 2010 - Came upon a bloody little goblin
calling himself Ganz in Juran. He claims to be the new goblin king though I
do not put much stock in his words. I will continue to investigate to see
if this is true before considering him for the savage council we intend to
create.
66 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 17 08:35:19 2010 - The first gray dwarf I have seen
since coming to the surface..a nameless creature with no memory but
apparently a psionic and potentially useful tool. He seems interested in
working for whomever has the coin so I will mention him to the Matron. We
are all outcasts here and we can take advantage of that to bring these
lesser creatures under our sway.
67 : Ryzan, Fri Jun 18 13:34:08 2010 - A mysterious drow calling himself
Druenther has come to the Matron wishing to be housed by us due to
his..loneliness.. The creature has augmented himself so much with demonic
parts that he is barely recognizable as a drow. The Matron suspects that he
may have been sent by a more powerful infernal to watch us but we cannot be
sure. It is clear that he is powerful and well connected among demons
though and for that reason we will tread lightly until it is decided if he
is ally or enemy.
68 : Ryzan, Sat Jun 19 07:29:42 2010 - At last we have the truth from
Druenther. He is an agent of a god called Mask..the Masked Lord Vhaerun?
Even more surprising than this is that Aunuit herself calls Vhaerun her
patron. He has known all along of our plans in Juran and according to him
the Masked Lord wishes to see us succeed. If this is true it is far more
valuable than any alliance with the humans of Tonovi would have been. I
will still tred lightly.. I will not be able to use the same tactic to
bring him down again if it becomes necessary to destroy him.
69 : Ryzan, Sat Jun 19 07:31:12 2010 - Druenther has given me the service
of an imp called Kroyik for the purpose of sniffing out the leadership of
Juran. We will see just how useful this little fiend truly is.
70 : Ryzan, Sat Jun 19 20:36:08 2010 - We seem to have stumbled into
another houses territory..LiNeerae of house Phaeraan has approached me with
a request for an audience with the Matron. I am sure they are trying to
take our measure but to what end I do not know. We will have to step
lightly..we are not yet fortified enough to repel the advances of an
established house.
71 : Ryzan, Sat Jun 19 20:39:16 2010 - The Matron has been exceptionally
weary of late..long hours at her craft seem to be having a significant
effect on her. Her beauty cannot be diminished but her fire is dimming. I
will have to find a way to rekindle it before she meets the representative
of Phaeraan.
72 : Ryzan, Sun Jun 20 21:20:18 2010 - It appears the Elder is planning to
begin a war with the Swan clan.. and it looks as if he has Ethius and Jzyr
among his number. I can only imagine the destruction that will be wrought
in a conflict between these powers but I do know that it will prove very
distracting..
73 : Ryzan, Mon Jun 21 05:55:07 2010 - Druenthel has made the suggestion to
Aunuit that she should breed demons or even dragons into the house lineage.
While I am loathe to sacrifice my place as Patron I was forced to admit the
advantages of such breeding when the Matron questioned me. Despite this,
the Matron insists that she wishes to keep the bloodline of the house pure.
Despite the power offered by comingling with demonic or draconic patrons,
the result would still be less than a true drow. To produce pure Drow of
the highest quality she has chosen me and I fully intend to honor her
wishes. It also appears that the Matron has grown increasingly attached to
me to the point that she has no interest in breeding with another male
whatsoever... a fact that while secretly I revel in could be seen as
weakness among the others of our kind and so must be kept hidden. Thankful
I am that she is not one of Lolths as I remember all to well what was
demanded of any Priestess who grew so attached to one of their consorts...
74 : Ryzan, Mon Jun 21 06:07:09 2010 - The Matron asked me of loyalty and
it left me questioning my own.. Why do I serve her so diligently? Why have
I invested so much of myself into elevating her to such heights? It is true
that I gain from her position and her favor in me is without peer..but as
she continues to make choices I do not understand I begin to realize that
there is nothing I would not do for her. I cannot refuse her or resist
her...my white queen, my deadly voice. I have truly fallen fully under her
glamour and even while remaining aware of it I cannot summon the will to
fight it... She is truly my Matron.
75 : Ryzan, Mon Jun 21 09:12:03 2010 - I've approached the Elder on the
matter of his war with Swan to make it clear that House Teken'ghym and Swan
stand apart. The Matron and I both believe it is in our best interests to
remain neutral in this encounter until it is clear to us which force is the
stronger. We've no desire to back a losing lizard.
76 : Ryzan, Mon Jun 21 17:25:55 2010 - Spoke briefly with the gnome
Jimi...a curious and wretched little creature that attempts to be in the
good graces of everyone and everything by playing a mad fool. His true
motivations I am still not quite sure of though it is obvious that he is a
con and sneak thief. Perhaps he is as simple as he claims..doing whatever
it takes to survive. But there is a suspicion buried deep within my mind
that tells me to be wary..
77 : Ryzan, Tue Jun 22 06:59:45 2010 - After all this time, finally Tonovi
deigns to speak with us and wishes for us to deal with their trade issues.
With the execution of the emissaries of house Hunzrin and Freth we have
ingratiated ourselves with their Duchess, I assume some form of Matron
among humans. Aunuit manipulated the emissaries with the skill of a true
Matron, weaving a web of deceit that led them to their own self
destruction. If ever there was a doubt in my mind that she would be able to
lead us due to her sometimes strange habits and proclivities, those doubts
have been laid to rest.
78 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 24 11:49:23 2010 - Made an offer to the Belendithas for
support from house Teken'ghym in return for his aid in acquiring pure
blooded priests to add to our fold. It is apparent that the only place we
are truly lacking in the House is in the area of the divine. While the
House will not be operated under the dogma of any deity, it would be
foolish to completely exclude such a powerful weapon.
79 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 24 20:53:31 2010 - Lineerae has finally met with the
Matron and it seems her Matron wishes to meet and discuss matters of mutual
gain between our houses. We've also been made aware of the existence of
another Drow city hidden beneath Juran. With us building our own complex
above it may be possible for us to insert ourselves into their
hierarchy..and perhaps even find a place among the greater houses..
80 : Ryzan, Thu Jun 24 20:56:31 2010 - It seems the houses of this
upperdark city of Drow bow their head to the Spider Queen in her surface
Aspect..or one of them. It will be important for us to learn all we can of

Bhinrar is employing the Elder to collect items of interest. I'm not
certain what his goals are but he has offered me a significant sum to slay
a unicorn for him. He has warned me that I will suffer pain as I have never
suffered before though I find that hard to believe after what I have
survived at the hands of my House in years past. We will see what comes of
it.
82 : Ryzan, Fri Jun 25 06:45:08 2010 - The Elder has asked that the Matron
take on Bentalf as a slave as punishment for his betrayal. I do not think
he is worthy even to be a slave to us but if it will gain us something we
do need from the Elder I'm sure the Matron will at least consider it.
Still..the idea of dealing with this human in any capacity leaves a foul
taste in my mouth.

a front to circulate his resources through the thieves guilds and
eventually manipulate them. I do not know who he is working for yet but the
prices he offers are good and the House will benefit greatly from the
resources he is putting at my disposal. At the moment I will play along and
see what comes of it.
85 : Ryzan, Mon Jun 28 08:06:59 2010 - The Unicorn Bhinrar wanted so
desperately has fallen..though the pain I was to suffer turned out to be
nothing like I expected. I do not know what vile curse it put on me in
those hours after it died, but I can only pray that I never must experience
such a thing again. With the blood he summoned a powerful demon called
Qualtatoth, and used its power to claim his house from his Matron. It was a
difficult ritual to stomach but the pay made it worthwhile. We also now
have a significant resource in his house which should grow the Matrons
power significantly.

human deity called Talos, a destructive elemental god whose half breed
servant Kiervalan remains in the ruins of a destroyed human city called
Daggerdale. If it is their way to bring destruction upon their own people
at the behest of their lord perhaps she will be more useful than I
anticipated

Tonovi again..despite the demise of their emissaries. Perhaps the remaining
soldiers who were left stranded above? I do not know the details but they
are ill equipped to survive here..throwing their lives away in a typically
meaningless fashion.

flawlessly, forcing the human Riden to reveal the truth of his guilt. We
will be watching them in the future and when the Elders aid is no longer

insufferable little gremlin that he is. I have warned him about the
consequences of fleeing from the Matron again and tasked him with gathering
the leaders of the various vermin tribes of Juran. They will submit to our
will in the end, after a few examples are made of course.

gang leaders in Juran have disappeared and that nobody seems to be willing
to step up to replace them. This doesn't come as a shock though now that we
are aware of Darol'Dralych. I am curious as to which house claims control
of the upper city ruins and its inhabitants though. Perhaps Xmusn will be
able to uncover that without dying.

Matron with her offers for House Teken'ghym. The doors of Darol'Dralych
will be opening soon and the Nightcloak is offering us a chance to become
ranked within the city Hierarchy. The 47th house of Darol'Dralych.. an
inglorious position but one that I believe will be short lived.

is attempting to open some form of portal to allow an elemental power loose
on the world. Supposedly one with enough strength to break the world
asunder. He believes that the Matron would have an interest in letting this
creature loose with no assurances of gain for the house...what fools these
humans are.
95 : Ryzan, Tue Jul 13 11:20:53 2010 - Ethius made the mistake of
attempting to interrupt the Matron while she was allowing Xmusn the goblin
an audience. I put him in his place and left him to consider his weakness,
but Xmusn fears the half breed will continue to attempt to subvert him. He
will be watched closely disposed of if it appears he has not been properly
cowed. He only lives now due to his connection to the Nightseer, that will
not save him next time.
96 : Ryzan, Wed Jul 14 07:20:39 2010 - Magnus, Riden and Vashii actually
had the tenacity to consider an assassination attempt on the Matron. Seems
they lost their nerve when they realized I was nearby. While individually
they are no threat, allowing them to continue to train their skills
together and return at their convenience to overwhelm a member of the house
would be folly. The Matron has decided they are to be disposed of.
97 : Ryzan, Wed Jul 14 07:22:31 2010 - A tense confrontation with the
Nightseer has nearly torn our alliance apart. He insists on protecting his
interests with the psions at the risk of losing his alliance with house
Teken'ghym. Further he insults our intelligence with his ridiculous
comments that amount to..there is a large threat over there who has not
taken notice of us yet..you should turn your back on the little one with a
dagger and attempt to surprise that one. We very well may end up disposing
of the Elder earlier than anticipated.

to sneak some of the slaves out of the northern drow city. Possibly a way
for the Matron to gain some influence and acceptance for our house with the

tunnels. A wizard had foolishly summoned the demon without taking the
proper precautions and had been consumed for his effort. In return for a
pouch of "liars coins" I agreed to send the creature back to the abyss. I
also wove a subtle tag into the gate that the fiend did not notice. Knowing
where he calls home it will be simple enough to determine the creatures
name and gain the leverage needed to make favorable deals.

knowledge of the cosmos in my grasp I was still fooled. Whomever my
benefactor was got the souls he wanted and I was given back to house
Teken'ghym relatively intact. I wield the weave no longer.. my borrowed
power reclaimed and my skill at arms.. sorely lacking. What will become of
me now I wonder?

until they make an open play for it.. an attack on Synoria by the humans
should have favorable results for our goals
109: Ryzan, Thu Mar 31 16:04:46 2011 - Came upon a group of surfacers in a
forest north of the ruined human city of Antioch. Two of them seemed little
more than beasts, grunting and growling like animals while the third was a
human of no apparent importance. The little beast elf I had encountered
before in the forest south of shadow. She discovered my presence somehow
and I was forced to subdue them before they finished preparing to attack
me. As it happens they are negligible threats and not worth the possible
repercussions to destroy. I've warned the Matron of the encounter so she
will not be surprised if the matter is brought before her.
110: Ryzan, Fri Apr 8 08:33:43 2011 - Attempted to sneak into the elven
village and was spotted. The fairies are such fragile creatures.. even
unarmed they died in my first defensive blows. I managed to fall back and
use a teleportation device to prevent them from tracking me. They are
suspicious of the Matron now though she has not punished me for my failure.
I will do what I can to mend what I have done so that her plans can be
continued unimpeded.
111: Ryzan, Tue Apr 26 09:22:34 2011 - Everything is quickly spiraling out
of control. The elves are eager for violence, going so far as to dismember
a human over suspicions. Considering their claims to be peaceful it was
surprising to see them so openly brutal. Now the humans and elves appear to
be at war and neither side seems interested in House Teken'ghyms aid. The
Matron has decided we will wait and watch and decide how best to profit
from these new developments
112: Ryzan, Wed Apr 27 09:05:13 2011 - I have hired Masuragge to convince a
group of human ruffians from Shadow to perform a secret raid on Synoria.
Murder a handful of elves silently, steal some of their things and sneak
back out of the city. They will use a rift key to escape to a location
where Masuragge will be waiting to kill them and eliminate all traces. The
tracks they will find in the city will be human and will increase tensions
between the humans and elves significantly.

from Tharis, a fey called Telmenar serves the masked lord and seeks to aid
his people.. We could not have asked for a better means of exploitation..

to Silesse without witnesses or incident, the spell seems to have taken
effect remarkably well. We will continue to monitor her for any obvious

Nightseer contain a powerful curse and the opportunity to strike at him is
a rare luxury. He is quite paranoid as he should be but eventually he will

to grow, the elves have come forward to accept the peace treaty and

there have lived under human persecution for ages now and are ripe for the
plucking. We will arm them.. train them.. and aid them in their battle

difficult to keep track of it all. According to Silesse, Mithras is growing
more and more unstable to the point she believes he will attack again. I

assassination of the elf Irablio through proxy agents in Tonovi. The nobles
son found some very talented hunters to collect his dryad and they managed
to keep the schedule and eliminate the true target while still collecting
the bait. Unfortunately the sylvans were unable to track the Dryad back to
the source which could land suspicion on us. With any luck they will
continue to investigate and we can arrange for them to find a bread crumb
or two to see it leads back to the human.

the move and about 50 human slaves. 10 barrels of solid mithril silver ore
-- Xorlorrin specialized in mithril trades. About 10 million gold -- not
for player but as assets for a city -- basically think about 1/5th of
treasury of a town.

to know where to start. We have been beneath Tharis for over a decade now
and our advancement has been unparalleled. None could have imagined our
successes, an island in a sea of enemies. But we underestimated the elven
resolve to maintain their "natural" order. Our advancement has come to a
sudden stop as a curse the likes of which has not been seen in millennia
was dropped on all we spent so long becoming close to. We are no longer a
mingling of surface and dark elves. We no longer have the security that
came with their unhappy kin not wishing to harm their own to get to us.
Times are changing and we must adapt quickly or be lost.

lines are slowly becoming more clear. The Duke has somehow made an enemy of
his mercenaries and is seeking to purchase more with money he does not
have. Perhaps pay is the reason for the Hounds desire to squash this
upstart? In the meantime the Hounds forces are gathering and the Valsharess
has sent emissaries to Tonovi to purchase the Dukes army out from beneath
him. If we bring another army to support us and turn the forces on the Duke
will the Hound Commander agree to our terms to share the city? Will there
be a city left for them at all when the smoke clears? Too many
uncertainties.

attache from the new Baronesse. She seems an impressive specimen for a
human and may prove useful if she does not try to betray us. I find it
unlikely that she will not.

search of a place free of Lolths webs. We came to this world of light where
we are hated and feared knowing there was no place for us here but

it to Vhaeraun... But is this truth or another web we have stumbled into?
His followers here on the surface embrace Lolth even as we hate her. He

begin to wonder how much my own darkness is clouding my vision. Did we
stumble into a new web or did we never truly escape our own.

somewhat with House business. Despite the threats of betrayal from within I
feel I need a moment to distance myself from it all in order to better
focus. I have business proposals from both Luur the armorsmith and Tzalyn
the sharran whore. The darkness of Durias has shared some interesting
information on her past with me and I believe it may be possible to pull
her away from the Spider Queen. Such would be a great blow to the goddess
and that at least will bring some happiness.

had placed some manner of enchantment on my sister and would cause her to

from the Valsharess... surely there was no other choice? To abandon
Vhaeraun now would be the end of us, of everything we had accomplished thus
far. Now I see the ruse for what it was... Grom has taken our son and
delivered him to the most powerful of our enemies. The Valsharess has
denounced Vhaeraun and has been stripped of her divine might and I share
her fate for standing by her. Grom has yet to twist the knife... when the
Valsharess learns I was complicit in our sons abduction... will I lose
everything?
152: Ryzan, Mon Jun 9 21:21:30 2014 - So much has happened in so short a
time. I chose to be the sacrifice the chains required to return our son to
us and to also hopefully redeem myself in my sisters eyes. As is usually
the case it did not go as planned, my soul slipping away to be bound to the
wall where all the faithless are taken. I had some small measure of
satisfaction in my sentence though knowing that Zaknatar would be back with
his mother and together they would live on. Time on the wall did not pass
as it did in the prime it seems. It felt like I was there a century or
more, feeling the stinging fetid wind of the fugue tearing at my flesh,
listening to the wailing of the innumerable souls imprisoned with me. I had
long ago given up hope that I would return... accepted the fate I had
earned. That is when she came to me... her luminescence warming my long ago
withered soul, her power flowing around and through me before finally
prying me from my prison. She spoke to me then, for days it seemed and then
bade me follow the shaft of moonlight that she stood within. I awoke then
to chaos...
153: Ryzan, Mon Jun 9 21:29:15 2014 - When I awoke it was difficult for me
to recall where I had been in anything but the vaguest sense. I was
surrounded by familiar faces and to my horror a corpse. My brother Vicdaer
had given his life to allow me to awaken, using his dark magics as it is
the only way he knows. The bond that he gave my sister and I had been
shattered as well and the only consolation I had to grasp was that we had
successfully returned Zaknatar to our care. My son is safe now and I take
solace in that at least. Now there is another rescue needed as Vicdaers
soul remains in conflict with the entity that had apparently occupied my
body in my absence. We will find my brother and this time without the use
of dark magics or sacrifices.
154: Ryzan, Tue Jun 10 21:59:41 2014 - Vicdaer was returned to us and with
a strange power over nature that is unexplainable at this point. We've
discovered the identity of this thing that has caused so much trouble for
us, apparently not an agent of Vhaeraun at all but the nameless godling I
witnessed the birth of so long ago. It raises many questions and we've few
avenues for answers. I will speak with Verbannon soon on the matter but
before that I will pray in hopes the Eilistraee may illuminate the path
ahead. I do so hate dealing with beings of chaos such as this... No rhyme
or reason to their methods or goals. Order is everything to me and its very
existence offends my being.
155: Ryzan, Sat Jun 14 18:08:18 2014 - I am trying to understand the power
that resides within me now. The goddess is still a stranger to me and the
grace is unfamiliar yet... welcome. There is something within this power
though, it tells me that I am not meant to serve in this way. It tells me
that what I was meant for was not possible under the yolk of Vhaeraun. I do
not understand completely at this time but I am intrigued. What is it that
I am meant to be I wonder? Am I worthy of it? Only time will tell.
156: Ryzan, Sat Jul 12 14:59:58 2014 - The code of the Darksong Knight is
alive within me. The power of my goddess infuses me. I have seen what is
expected of our People and what will be expected of me. I must protect
Daoine'yndaar as it is the realization of Eilistraee's dream for us. I will
not fail Her.
157: Ryzan, Fri Mar 13 12:44:37 2015 - A new milestone seems to be upon us.
Prince Rivorndir and Ayvrileiya of Corellon have entered our lives and
brought with them a bright ray of hope. As they arrange for the ceremony
that may free our Sylvan kin from the unjust curse that has befallen them I
find myself wondering about what this will mean for the future of
Daoine'yndaar. Will this prove to be our liberation or yet another
condemnation? I must put my faith in Eilistraee and the Seldarine and hope
that in their vast wisdom and vision they see our value despite the
missteps along the way.
158: Ryzan, Sat Mar 28 11:16:11 2015 - Our kin have stood before the gaze
of the Seldarine and been found worthy. The curse has been lifted by those
who wished it leaving only a few of our sylvan cousins dark by their own
choice. Many witnessed from afar and I am not sure what they saw but I know
that Eilistraee is with us and we are not alone. Will this be the event
that paves the way toward unity at long last? Will this be the first
recognition of the dark elven Ascent?
159: Ryzan, Sat Mar 28 11:20:07 2015 - Eilistraee has armed me with
Gisir'Everae, a moonblade crafted for one who protect all Tel'Quessir. It
is an honor beyond words and one I am not entirely sure I am worthy of. To
believe otherwise would be hubris I think but I endeavor to continue to
prove that the faith was not misplaced. I do wonder at the blades origins
though. Who held it before? How did it find its way to me? Why was I
chosen?
160: Ryzan, Tue May 19 16:39:43 2015 - Since the lifting of the curse by
the Seldarine we have begun to shift focus toward the future and our
relationships with other elven communities beyond our borders. We wish to
extend to them a show of good faith and the assurance that there is no
malcontent brewing for their part in our Peoples curse. The Seldarine have
made their will known in the matter and we rise from it as we have from all
our previous trials. We continue to push to learn what it is to be truly
elven and one day hope to visit these other elven villages and cities
freely to experience Tel'Quessir culture as it was meant to be.
161: Ryzan, Tue May 19 16:41:46 2015 - Trillet has made direct threats to
Daoine'yndaar and myself if we upset his plans in Torm or even extend a
hand of friendship to the moon elves of Ahketon. I've assured him we have
no intention of upsetting his plans nor extending our influence so far
north but we will not be stopped from seeking ties with other elven
communities. It is simply not for him to decide.
162: Ryzan, Tue May 19 16:43:24 2015 - My sister and Valsharess has
expressed an emptiness to me, one she has felt since Vhaeraun took her
arcane knowledge as price for his divine gifts. I admit she has not been
the same since those days and I will do whatever I can to help her reclaim
that lost part of herself.
163: Ryzan, Tue Aug 11 08:51:11 2015 - Our goddess Eilistraee has seen the
emptiness in my sisters heart where Vhaeraun had torn free the gift of the
arcane. She appeared before her and with a touch awoke the dormant spark of
power that is inherent in all our People. Nothing was asked in return for
this, it was a genuine kindness for a servant who felt lost. I am myself
moved in ways I have never known by this and it only reaffirms that we have
made the right choice. To know community, friendship and love is something
that I shall never take for granted. Praise Eilistraee.
164: Ryzan, Tue Aug 11 08:56:07 2015 - Torm has seen an upset to its
hierarchy as the Vizier has finally been removed from power and allowed for
the lost royal line to be restored. Trillet seems to believe they are of
good heart and will lead the city in a proper direction. Time will tell if
his assertions are true but in the meantime we seek to entreat with them to
make a good first impression. We have been trading through there docks for
years now and do not wish it to appear we are another shady organization
that must be purged from their reclaimed city.
165: Ryzan, Thu Aug 20 23:40:57 2015 - Jysibyll's unborn child has been
purged of its demonic influence and the blessings of Eilistraee have been
placed upon it. Justice, Compassion and Loyalty that whatever the childs
fate may be it will at least be guided in the direction of the light.

Thanks for sharing Ryzan, I really enjoyed running the conflicts in the underdark with House Hunzrin, House Freth, and House Xorlorrin. For my contributions it looks like it started May 2010 and ended May 2013.

I'm really tempted to put House Xorlorrin's house in game somewhere and maybe have a Little Old Drow Lady with handbag full of poison plotting her vengeance Smile

Ryzan and Aunuit were really fun characters! Thanks for sharing!

This was amazing to read! Liz discovered the palace and has been doing some digging into its history. She'll never know what I've read, but I get to keep all this knowledge, and it's wonderful! I've clearly been failing to use pcnotes to their greatest extent. I'm really glad you shared this, not just as insight ito a character, but also a a recording of history. I kind of want to see this turned into a novel, though....

I do not know if I should be happy that I participated in PKing some of the people mentioned, or at least assisted others in killing them, in these notes and forgotten or sad. On the one had it means Dwarves are as sneaky as Halflings. On the other it means I was forgotten.
